The access from a major street is easy to navigate. Parking was very close and validation available in the hotel. The desk clerks are knowledgeable and friendly... They actually looked at us instead of the computer screen.
Also charged for parking and the ramp was empty. Will not be back.
The double tree is located in downtown Omaha in a lovely location. It is walking distance to mostly everything. The hotel itself is gorgeous to look at and has incredible views from the room. We stayed on the ninth floor in the King suite. Guests get free parking the duration of their stay and there is a convenient shuttle that runs until midnight. There is a fitness center and a pool but no sauna or hot tub.
The price is reasonable for a upscale hotel. If you need a place to stay and want a little bit of luxury, this is your best bet.
Additionally, the rooms are quite dated. There are stains all over the walls, water stains on the ceilings and the carpet is ripped all over. The mini fridge looked as though someone had hammered it which was very unsightly. Extension cords throughout the room that looked mangled. And finally, they only do heat in the ‘cooler months’ and air conditioning in the ‘warmer months’. They offer fans if you need them, but even with the fan our room got up to 80 degrees at night.
Amenities are plentiful. We stayed in the honors room. It was clean,roomy and ventilated.
The hotel lobby was very nice. I liked the digital directory. We had a work party on the 19th floor and the elevator we got - the button wouldn't stay lit up, so we had to get off at the 18th floor and use another elevator. I also would have thought the party room we use would have looked nicer. Food was really good though.
Was disappointed. The room was so hot and no way to control it. When we turned the heat down and the fan on it made too much noise. Too hot to sleep. Breakfast buffet was not good. For the price not happy. One positive we did have a good pizza delivered to the room.
The new room was a bit cleaner but still had trash on the floor. Clearly the cleaning staff needs to be re-trained.
Stayed here before going to a show at the Orpheum. When we first checked in we basically just dropped off our items and left. When we came back at 11:30pm we noticed that the room was very dirty. There were chips on the floor and dried food on the night stand. There was also trash on the other side of the far side of the bed that was not ours. When I called to ask about it there was no apology. They said they would send someone up with new keys for a different room. They included 2 free buffet breakfasts with the new keys, but gratuity not included. While I understand gratuity is deserved to the staff that serves you the next morning, it’s a pretty bold apology since they still expect you to want to spend your money at a place that is unclean.
The pub and restaurant were open until after midnight. Starbucks was a treat!!
