Their new winter grilled cheese is FANTASTIC! Comes with house ricotta, havarti, sage, roasted butternut squash & reduced balsamic. So. Freaking. Tasty. Next time I plan to try with bacon!
I would recommend a different entree. Squash salad was great though.
I LOVE Kitchen Table!!! Working across the street is such a wonderful thing! I love being able to get a healthy, made-from-scratch sandwich for under $10. Definitely lessens the guilt of eating out for lunch! They’re transitioning between online ordering software and it isn’t perfect, but, in general, it makes the process simple to do from my desk at work, which I appreciate.
Got the 1-2-3 brunch that they serve on Sundays for $15. Started with their grilled bread and squash salad. Honey butter was good and complemented the char on the bread. Squash salad was absolutely delicious.
Soups on happy hour?! Yes please! So very pleasantly surprised to go in the late afternoon and enjoy a plate of gougère (cheesy tasty goodness) and a cup of creamy squash soup for only $5! Not to mention the quality of ingredients (you can taste the difference) and a lovely staff, all in a comfortable environment with lots of light wood and little plants. It's a gem!
Great food. Great staff. Great ambiance. As I tasted any one of the seasonal offerings, I could close my eyes and be transported to that season of the year in my childhood. We have made great memories here, already, with our own children.
The sandwiches here are fantastic. I've personally have had the meatloaf and the whole bird. Both are very filling. The one thing I would change is the spiced popcorn. It just isn't a flavor I like which is why a rated at 4 stars. Other than the popcorn, Kitchen Table is still a great place for lunch.
My entree was the grits which were below par. Poached egg was cooked perfectly but the flavor of the grits were quite bland, even with the ricotta cheese. It might be because I'm used to southern grits which is loaded with flavor and quite heavy.
