My doctor left his practice and joined Think Whole Person Healthcare. I was dismayed...until I visited him there. Comfortable surroundings, modern, state of the art equipment, in-house pharmacy and more. And the best part? Dr. Osterholm is still the best internal medicine specialist that he was at the last office but in much better surroundings...and so am I. Change can be better for everyone.
I had been a patient of Dr. Joe Shehan for 4.5 years. I migrated to the new THINK offices along with the team. I gave it a while and a few opportunities to improve but honestly I have never before felt like cattle in the way I did there. The past 4 visits I waited 40 minutes the first, was sent away the second as he had an emergency (why were his patients not notified?), the third I waited an hour, and the last time was the nail in the coffin. I arrived for labs that I was told they decided not to do then I waited 1 hour and 45 total minutes before I'd had enough (at that time they said I was next but it would be at least another 20 minutes). Completely unappreciative of my time, business and history. It seems to me that they're all scrambling to pay for the new building. I'll take a less technically savvy office with a good doctor that sees me in a timely fashion and treats me with respect over some fancy glass fiasco where I'm treated like a number. I sincerely recommend that you look elsewhere. I did.
We chose Dr. Shehan because we have seen his brother in another office. Of course we were referred. We really liked him. He is very knowledgeable. He takes his time to explain things. However, the way my wife was treated is down right awful. You can call this facility all day and won't get a phone call back. Emailing does no good either. It does make a trail which is good for proof that you contacted them. His nurse can't remember things and is often having to call back after referring to notes. Honesty does not go far here. When you are being treated poorly and you stand up for yourself you will be let go. Definitely not a doctor patient relationship. You feel like you have no control over your own health. It's sad because we feel he is a very intellegient man, but has no compassion or empathy at all.
I have had good and great experiences with providers at Think. The Think Quick provides great, fast urgent care service which has been really helpful when my doc is booked out. Jeff in optical is great with helping you find glasses that look great and are very comfortable. I have seen other providers and though I have had to wait, I feel I have been treated politely and given good care.
This place is extremely concerning. After having multiple issues, I began reading experiences from others and what I have experienced has been typical. The staff are not the most polite, the call nurses are rude, 2 doctors I have seen are condescending and all they seem to care about is prescribing things and if you question anything about your care then they become bullies because the ego load is too high. My doctor treated me very inappropriately and instead of caring and listening, he tried to write me off because he couldn't figure out what my medical issue is so he assumed that I'm just a hypochondriac. His rude behavior was so bad, I recorded it, and I spoke to a patient liaison. Did Think deal with the doctor? No! But they dismissed me via written correspondence for daring to complain. If you read about that, you will learn that if one doctor dismisses you, you are ban from Think altogether. This way, they do not have to be accountable. So basically if a doctor is out of line, Think would rather ignore that and further victimize a patient. Do you really want to be cared for by a facility with NO CHARACTER? This facility is all about consumerism and $$$, NOT about YOU or YOUR CARE. You are a meal ticket.
