I have been renting moving vehicles for years but never before have I used Budget. This time, Budget had the best price so I gave them a try. MY BAD!!! I WILL NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET AGAIN!!!
3) The air conditioner was out of Freon so it would only kind of cool when you were driving but not in stop and go traffic.
Save your time and patience. Go to Gordon on 90th street if you have to have a Budget rental.
2) The tie rods were lose on both front tires. What that means is that the front tires would sometimes go straight down the road and sometimes they would wobble back and forth making the truck feel like it was bouncing like a basketball down the road. NOT GOOD when you are moving furniture 1200 miles. If those two weren't bad enough.
I've been renting from Budget for years. I always go to the S. 90th St location and Gordon is always accommodating. This time I had to go to this location because Gordon did not have the vehicle I needed.
I asked what vehicle I'd be picking up and was told one vehicle and given a different one. When I told them, the vehicle they were giving me wouldn't work, I suggested a work around (taking seats out of a passenger van), they refused and tried to tell me the seats don't come out. I cancelled my reservation and will go to a different company.
I had to call Budget 6 times to try to get them to do something about this vehicle and they simply didn't care. They did finally give me 10% off which I of course took after 6 calls and would have been fine if it was only dirty, but this vehicle was dirty, unsafe and uncomfortable. NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET not only are they bad vehicles, they don't care that you put your life and possessions as risk.
1) The truck was delivered full of fuel and COMPLETELY DIRTY, it had not been touched since the last rental; broken glass, hair ties, broken wood and lots of dirt in the back. The cab was filthy and even had bloody gauze bandages under the seat. The interior looked like the 173,000 miles the truck had on it with broken visors that kept falling down in my face. If that wasn't bad enough.
PROS: They gave me the best price - that's why I went with them. The staff were nice. CONS: The car tow dolly I received was damaged. They didn't have another one to give me so I had to take it. It definitely was not safe, but I made it to the other side just fine. They also failed to mention that DEF fluid is the driver's responsibility. I was not aware of this. After returning it, I had to pick it back up to refill the DEF fluid to avoid a fee.
Beautiful brand new car, fun knowledgeable reps, easy access location. Will rent from there again
